May 2015 - SAN replacement

One of the leading providers of private healthcare, with more than 40 private hospitals throughout the UK was looking to procure a new Storage Area Network infrastructure to replace the legacy environment which existed within the organisation.

The existing infrastructure could no longer scale to support the current and future needs of the business and therefore a strategic review of storage technologies was undertaken and Tangible Benefit were selected as the strategic partner to provide the new platform.

Tangible Benefit worked with the healthcare provider and the manufacturer of choice, EMC, for a period of 6 months to ensure that all of the business objectives, both current and planned future, were encapsulated in the proposed design and are now delivering this new solution which will underpin the IT provision, data and storage needs for the next 7 years.



April 2015 - Citrix Remote Desktop Implementation

A global banking corporation was looking for a partner to work with them to provide a new Remote Desktop solution to underpin the changes in corporate strategy.

The customer had a need to provide flexible working for their user base, offering home working capability in line with their current EU objectives. Such an undertaking was also seen as an opportunity to change their strategy with regards to desktop provision, moving towards the use of thin client devices and away from workstations for administrative users to reduce their overall spend and enable longer term benefits.

Tangible Benefit worked with the bank for a period of 6 months reviewing the business needs and assessing the best solution to deliver this strategic change. Together with the chosen vendor, Citrix, Tangible Benefit proposed, supplied and implemented the Citrix solution to enable the migration to the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) whilst also enabling improved resilience through the load balancing of the service between London and New York.



Comic Relief 2015 - 13th March

Today we had lots of fun and games in the office to help raise money for this amazing charity. Everyone wore red noses and silly hats - and the office was decorated with red balloons! Various incentives and promotions were run throughout the day to help raise money - a great effort by the Tangible Benefit team - thank you!

January 2015 - Strategic Stock Solution

Working closely with a large oil and gas company who are based across two sites within the UK, Tangible Benefit now hold Lenovo stock at this customers site against our own balance sheet. We understand the fundamental supply issues that come when ordering Lenovo build-to-order product and in order to counter against this we offer clients an on-site stock holding service allowing the customer to retrieve hardware immediately at time of order without the need to carry out large scale budget planning and advance spend.

Furthermore, prior to replenishing these items on a monthly basis Tangible Benefit image all laptops and PC's prior to shipment to our customers site - again, reducing the lead time from time of order to deployment to a users desk.

Not only does this solution erode the day-to-day lead time for our client - at times of transition (a traditionally voltatile period with lack of stock and visibility on new models) it allows us to phase out the old models and bring in the new models through inflation of items held in stock on a temporary basis.

The supply of laptops and desktops is viewed by many as a commodotised product - Tangible Benefit take a different view and recognise that something so small can, when delivered on week long lead times have a big impact on IT departments productivity and performance.



December 2014 - Strategic Network Implementation

One of the UK's top Charity and Voluntary Organisations with over 400 retails outlets and over 15 hospices that supports people living with life-limiting and long term conditions, was looking to implement a new Strategic network across multiple locations, providing improved performance, resilience and delivering “future proofing” to support new technologies and services. To assist, Tangible Benefit initially went through a phase of consultation, to ensure that the medium and long term goals were understood. From here Tangible Benefit designed a number of viable network architectures that would provide the client with the strategic needs. Reviews of the different proposed architectures then took place with the client and a new fully resilient high performance network core and edge design was selected utilising Cisco Chassis and a modular switch platform that will deliver improvements in speed, resilience and performance, right from initial deployment. This new network is able to provide further enhancements that the customer may look to implement in the future such as Converged Networking and Unified Communications capabilities with little to no additional investment as the design encapsulated the current known needs and potential areas of change to ensure flexibility and capability to encompass aspirations the client has.



August 2014 - Cloud Storage Reversal

Working with a luxury lingerie client, the challenge was to move away from a hosted environment which was proving too expensive as their storage footprint grew, lack of control over their growing estate and downtime to retrieve data was not meeting their business needs. The solution was to work with the client to build a storage environment fit for purpose. It was decided that HP 3PAR StorServ 7200 with the storage tiered over two shelves allowing for further expansion would be the best fit for the client. Tangible Benefit were involved from the planning and design all the way through to delivery . installation and training.



August 2014 - Asset Disposal

A UK leading estate agency and property services group with 11,800 employees operating under 52 high street names were looking for an IT disposal service to cover all of their sites nationwide disposing of client devices, back end infrastructure and telephony, and Tangible Benefit were the chosen partner to deliver for their 830 UK sites. There's a total count of 9,500 assets to be accounted for in an ambitious timescale of less than 9 months. Each asset is segregated into non-hazardous and hazardous equipment with equipment then further segregated into data bearing and non-data bearing. Comprehensive asset reports for each site are supplied providing pertinent points and individual certificates for each data erased hard drive.



August 2014 - Mass Deployment

A top 10 staffing business based in the UK were facing the challenge of rolling out 1000 new desktop devices to dozens of sites across the UK as well as improving the service offering for mobile users and reduce the strain on IT to store multiple images. They previously had to wait 4-5 weeks for any Configured-To-Order devices that they procured. Tangible Benefit now deliver Lenovo Configured-To-Order machines anywhere in the UK within a 3 day SLA period. We do this by calculating their future need for stock, ordering in advance and storing the devices in our Central London warehouse. The devices are then called off at the customers request. As soon as the devices are called off they are imaged, asset tagged and dispatched. Full asset management information is supplied free-of-charge, as well as order monitoring, stock level and SLA performance level data. We also give a specific 1-hour window when their orders will be delivered so that they can effectively schedule their deployment engineers.
